About

Howdy.

My name is Ronnie Taylor and I am the original Cowboy Sharp®. I’ve been sharpening all sorts of items for more than 38 years. I’m an artist and craftsman at heart.

I’m a real foodie and amateur home chef which is why sharpening kitchen knives is my specialty (including Japanese and serrated knives).

I love to cook and I can’t live without sharp kitchen tools. Well, I could, but there would be cursing involved and I’m a clean cut cowboy so… I don’t go there. Sharp kitchen knives it is!

I also sharpen scissors (fabric, craft, industrial) and garden tools (mower blades, pruners, loppers, garden shears, axes, hatchets and machetes.

I’m originally from Texas but transplanted here to Southwest Florida in 2009 with my wife, Colleen. You’ll often find her smiling face helping me package up your sharp knives and processing payments at our events. I couldn’t do it without her!

And we can’t forget about our retired racing greyhounds…
Dolly – aka, Crazy Dolly. She’s our adventurous one. Full of tail wags and smiles. Always diggin’ a hole, runnin’ crazy zoomies and getting into trouble!
Shark or Sharky. He’s the exact opposite of Crazy Dolly. Calm, quiet and always looking for the sweet pets and ear rubs. He’ll lean on you patiently while enjoying some petting.

On rare, fun occasions, they come with us in their secure little bunks when the weather and event permits.

They LOVE treats and Crazy Dolly will do all sorts of tricks to get them. Sharky is too lazy for tricks but he still gets treats. So, pretty much any tips I earn go directly to **Treats for the Hounds**. Tips are never expected but always appreciated. Thank you (from all of us) from the bottom of our hearts!
